Asheville Municipal Golf Course, Beverly Hills Community
As in all Donald Ross courses, Asheville Municipal Golf Course was designed to be challenging as well as fun. The greens play firm and fast and will test the skill of all golfers. The front nine is a flat, wide open layout that allows the use of the driver on most holes. The back nine is wooded, has more elevation changes and requires the correct choice of club to be successful. Nestled along the Swannanoa River ten minutes East of Asheville ,the course offers beautiful views of the Blue Ridge mountains. The Asheville Municipal Golf Course, a municipal facility, is currently seeking National Historic designation. Asheville Municipal has been described as a "step back into the 1920's and a hidden gem" by Michael Faye, President of the Donald Ross Society.
